2007 GMC Yukon SU
First Look at the GMC Yukon
Yukon's exterior has been totally redesigned, with a simpler, more elegant palette than before. The hood has been rounded over slightly, giving the impression of a hot rod hood that has been nosed. A big, smiling mouth-shaped grille area has a bold "GMC" logo at center. Large, vertically stacked headlights dress each corner. The windshield is more steeply raked than before, lending a sportier look. Slightly squared-off fender wells give a hint of truck styling, and a gently rising shoulder line keeps the profile from being too boxy. Front and rear bumpers are body-colored, helping to reduce the overall visual size of the vehicle. The rear fascia has big, vertically stacked taillights at each corner, and a frameless rear hatch window that melds with trim pieces to give the feeling of wrap-around glass. The Denali edition adds a little bit more splash -- a great chrome cheese grater grille, chrome trim on the front, on the roof rack, on the body side molding, on the door handles, and on the rear sill. Denali also features slightly different headlights and taillights with a fancier texture. The differences between the standard Yukon and the Denali are subtle on the exterior -- Denali's a fairly classy upgrade over Yukon style.
